"Chervona Ukraine" - missile cruiser was built by Ukrainians in city
Nikolaev (Mykolaiv) at the Ukrainian shipyard (1979-1982). She was ready to sail in 1983. It was most powerful cruiser in
that time. After Soviet fleet was divided Russia received 80% of the Soviet fleet, including "Chervona Ukraine". In 1995 Russia
changed name of cruiser from "Chervana Ukraine" to "Varyag".
Last year (05/26/08) russian newspaper call this cruiser " Slava- class missile
cruise, "the killer of aircraft carrier".
So, Ukrainians built super-class missile cruiser in 1982.
